East Side Parking Lot Construction Beginning September 8
The East Side Library will be improving the parking lots around the library! Access to the east driveway and the book drops will be disrupted.
For our customers’ convenience,
A TEMPORARY BOOK DROP will be INSTALLED on the northwest curb.
As construction proceeds on the west lot, the Hubbell Avenue entrance will be closed. Customers will need to access the library via East 27th Street and may return to using the permanent book drops.
East Side Library will be open during its regular hours throughout this construction.

Newly renovated in the fall of 2006, this Des Moines Public Library location features a separate and expansive meeting room area, a conference room, and two study rooms.
Wireless Internet access is also available for patrons with laptops.
While you're here, check out our separate children's and teen areas. In the children's area, kids can look through books, play with toys, use the Internet, and play computer games. Move over to the nearby teen area to check out our teen graphic novel section, watch movies on our flat screen TV, surf the web, or unwind with a book.
Parents can also find a place to relax in the adult reading room, complete with comfortable seating, a magazine and newspaper rack, and cozy gas fireplace.
