Retro-commissioning is the comprehensive review and adjustment of mechanical and electrical systems in a commercial or industrial property. Hear all about the recently completed retro-commissioning process for the downtown facility of ING Insurance as outlined by Nexant Energy of Middleton, WI and MidAmerican Energy. Hear about the various systems that were reviewed and the savings they have been realized. The retro-commissioning organization was SystemWorks, LLC of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Print Management: Reduce Waste and Save $

This session will focus on resource management by incorporating printing waste reductions using best practices in waste diversion and will explain the economic impact related to print management system enhancements. This presentation will be of special interest to our corporate community and local and state governments (including schools) because it not only speaks to resource management but also presents the opportunity to reduce the fiscal bottom line while creating economic impact with capital expenditure funds of the organization. The payback that is realized by the implementation of a print management system into an organization will be explained along with the economical impact to the community. A case study will be shared of Dow Chemical’s print management system and its $5 million in print management savings.

The Art of Becoming AWARE

Learn how one artist uses the arts (sculpture, poetry, and this year . . . music) to focus on water quality issues, river restoration, and recycling processes. The focus of the presentation and artist’s work is waste reduction education and the impact that waste


has on our environment. Becoming aware involves not only considering how waste is disposed of but the importance of finding ways to reuse and recycle waste. The program will be hosted by David Williamson, well known for his work as part of Project AWARE, which pulls garbage out of local rivers, to be incorporated into sculptures. He is also a poet and gives creativity workshops for students and corporate professionals all over the country.

Go Green with Alternative Energy Options

Questions and answer session will allow topics that include green construction solutions and permitting and grant processes that related to alternative energy installations for wind towers and solar systems.
