Are You Ready to Vote?

The League of Women Voters of Metro Des Moines will be present to provide voter information and registration assistance. To qualify to register to vote in Iowa, you must be:
•A U.S. citizen,
•An Iowa resident, and
•At least 17 1/2 years old (must be 18 years old by election day to vote.)

Be sure to have either your Iowa driver's license number, non-operator's license number, or the last 4 digits of your Social Security number with you to pre-register to vote. Come and learn how you can be a part of this important process.

Forest Flicks - Kids Classics: Space Jam

The aliens have landed in Looney Tunes Land and it’s up to Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck (with a little help from Michael Jordan) to defeat the pumped-up aliens in an epic basketball game that defies space and gravity! Bring your blankets and pillows (but leave the basketballs on the court) to Forest Avenue Library to see who wins the game.

General Election Polling Place

The Forest Avenue Library Meeting Room is reserved as a Polk County General Election Polling Place. The Meeting Room will open to the public at 7:00 AM for voting. The Meeting Room will close to the public and voting will cease at 8:00 PM. Library services will not be available to the public from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Library services will be available to the public during normal operating hours: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Play, Grow, Learn!

Play, Grow, Learn! is an opportunity for you to use the Imagination Station to explore early literacy tips and books, play with others, and develop early literacy skills using Forest Avenue Library's space and toys. This is an unsupervised, drop-in playtime where parents and caregivers are encouraged to interact with their children. Many items will be available for free exploration and play.
